VISION
To produce world class Biotechnocrats capable to innovate and disseminate knowledge to cater the needs required for the welfare of the mankind.
MISSION
The Department of Biotechnology was established with an obligation to offer quality teaching, good infrastructure / laboratories and training for the aspirants of the program in 2002 with B.E. Program. Later the department introduced M. Tech. program in Biotechnology in year 2004.The focus of the department is to excel in academics and research in cutting edge areas of modern biotechnology by providing personal mentoring, hands on training and industrial exposure to the undergraduate and postgraduate students. Department is marked as a regional unit of one of the most leading scientific society Association of Microbiologist of India under which students are nurtured to show their academic skills.

PO1 Graduates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of Biotechnology, Engineering Science (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and Life Science subjects.
PO2 Graduates will be able to identify, diagnose, formulate and solve Healthcare, Environmental, Food, Agricultural and related problems.
PO3 Graduates will be able to design Biological products and provide services for Academics, Research and Industrial needs.
PO4 Graduates will be able to investigate the complex multi variable problems in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioprocess Engineering, Food Engineering, etc.
PO5 Graduates will be able to handle Bio-instrumentation Softwares, Computational Softwares (AutoDock and GROMACS), Bioinformatics Tools (Sequence Alignment and Phylogenetic Tools), Bioprocess Simulation Tools (SIMULINK), etc.
PO6 Graduates will be able to demonstrate, explain and contribute to the solution of societal problems using Biotechnology.
PO7 Graduates will be able to identify, interpret and solve Environmental problems using Sustainable Bio-techniques.
PO8 Graduates will be able to acquire and practice various Bioethics & Professional Ethics.
PO9 Graduates will be able to undertake and accomplish Individual Tasks as well as Group Activities by involving in Projects, Internships and Group Discussions
